Emily Duncan Wilson is a rising senior at Smith College where she is a multiple woodwind performance music major and a theatre minor. As a woodwind doubler, she plays piccolo, flute, tin whistle, oboe, clarinet, bass clarinet, soprano sax, alto sax, tenor sax, and bari sax. She currently studies with Bruce Krasin and Ellen Redman, and has previously studied with Scott Mullett, Donna Morse and Kyle Horch. She has played with the New London Barn Playhouse (NH), St. Michael's Players (Longmeadow, MA), as a part of the Musical Theatre Society, and Savoy Opera Society at Royal Holloway University of London. She plays with the NYC/Northampton-based folk group, Hannah & Maggie, having played at the Iron Horse Music Hall and Academy of Music Theatre, and is recording on their fourth album, expected summer 2017.
She is the primary student sound designer for the Smith College Theatre Department, and has composed, music directed, and designed many of the main stage shows, as well as for the New Playreading Series. She was the original sound designer and board op for Always Plenty of Light at the Starlight All-Night Diner at the NYC Fresh Fruit Festival in July 2016.
This February she will premiere her new original musical revue, Stages: A Musical Revue at Smith College. It tells the college coming-of-age story through classic and popular pre-existing musical theatre numbers, strung together by original poetic story-telling.
